Lauren and Trevor's wedding photos at Yokayo Ranch in Ukiah, CA brings me back to one of the most memorable weddings I've photographed. They were such a fun couple from the moment I met them, through their engagement session, and until I delivered their wedding photos. You can really get a sense of their energy, love and excitement from the pictures.
The day started with beautiful weather and a great sense of ease from everyone at the wedding party, especially from the bride and groom. In fact, before getting ready, Lauren took a little time to lounge by the pool in her bathing suit to soak up the the sun and prepare for the festivities ahead.
Their ceremony was unconventional (a mix of traditional vows and Buddhist rituals) and quite emotional, with lots of tears and laughter between the bride, groom and all their guests. I couldn't help but get a little choked up myself from time to time during the ceremony. Lauren and Trevor were lucky to be surrounded by such loving friends and family.
But their luck didn't stop there. It was supposed to get up to 90+ degrees at Yokayo Ranch that day, and everyone was a little worried about staying hydrated and cool for the outdoor ceremony. They even relocated the ceremony site to a more shaded area. But when the time came to walk down the aisle, the clouds came in and gave us the perfect, mild weather for the rest of the day.
By the time the party was over, I didn't want to leave. I felt lucky that for one day, I was part of a very loving and close-knit group of people. After delivering their wedding photos, they were both so excited that it made me want to photograph it all over again! Thank you, Lauren and Trevor, for making me a part of one of the most special times in your life, and for allowing me to call you my new friends.
Special thanks to my friend Ryan Zhang for helping me that day, and to Sarah Dean Beauty!
